What questions should I ask when creating a job profile using the stakeholder method?
Creating a job profile using the stakeholder method involves generating a Comparison Report with multiple Job Survey results on one page and discussing these results to determine what the final job profile should look like. The following are questions to ask to help determine the final job profile:
Profile Types
- What are the different profile types of the results?
- Are the profile types similar or different?
- Are there any transition profile results?
- If there are transition profiles, which traits should be prioritized?
- Dominant vs. Compliant
- Accepting vs. Independent
Power Scale - Red
- Do the stakeholders agree this profile should be dominant or accepting?
- If there are disagreements, what are the cases for each trait?
- Once the trait is agreed upon, to what degree should it be expressed? This is how you decide upon the score.
- Dominant: the higher the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be above 42.
- Accepting: the lower the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be below 42.
Power Scale - Green
- Do the stakeholders agree this profile should be sociable or analytical?
- If there are disagreements, what are the cases for each trait?
- Once the trait is agreed upon, to what degree should it be expressed? This is how you decide upon the score.
- Sociable: the higher the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be above 42.
- Analytical: the lower the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be below 42.
Power Scale - Blue

- If there are disagreements, what are the cases for each trait?
- Once the trait is agreed upon, to what degree should it be expressed? This is how you decide upon the score.
- Relaxed: the higher the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be above 42.
- Driving: the lower the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be below 42.
Structure Scale - Yellow
- Do the stakeholders agree this profile should be compliant or independent?
- If there are disagreements, what are the cases for each trait?
- Once the trait is agreed upon, to what degree should it be expressed? This is how you decide upon the score.
- Compliant: the higher the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be above 42.
- Independent: the lower the score, the stronger the trait is expressed. The score must be below 42.
Final Scores
The total of all 4 scores must equal 168 to create the job profile. If the scores that you have selected do not equal 168, what adjustments can be made on each of the trait scales?
