Hello, my name is James O’Brien, Operations Director of i-intro® and welcome to this short video on how to engage new clients in a way that positions you as an authority in your market.

We all know that most recruiters have very little different to offer their clients when meeting with them to discuss their recruitment challenges.  Imagine, if there was a simple, stress free way to engage with your clients so that they would only ever choose to work with you, time and time again.

Well, we call this the Recruitment Process Audit™ which focuses on the cost of getting it wrong, and importantly the benefits of how getting it RIGHT can have a massive impact on an employer’s bottom line.

Quite simply it gives you a straightforward approach to show your clients why their current recruitment process is flawed, and possibly broken, but more importantly how you can show them how your recruitment process can save them time and money.

We are not talking about reducing your fees or fighting with other recruiters to get a CV on the desk of your client ahead of your competition but how you can position yourself as a Management Consultant that specialises in fixing your clients talent acquisition challenges -and let’s face it, they all have challenges attracting and retaining the best talent.

Let’s think about your client’s current recruitment process, it’s probably something like this:

A vacancy arises due to a resignation, retirement or expansion.  Your client dusts off the existing job description and polishes it up.  They engage with their favourite recruiters or those on their PSL, and each recruiter sends then 4-6 CVs in the hope that one or more will hit the spot.  The client, or their HR team, reviews the 20-30 CVs that they have been sent and screen them to arrange the 5 or 6 that they choose to meet.  After 1, 2 or maybe 3 interviews they narrow it down and make the decision to hire one of them.  Sounds normal right?  Well how does your client know they have made the right hire?

Chances are that they hit lucky 70% of the time, but for the other 30% it doesn’t quite work out and that’s why their current process is flawed or broken.  Think about this for a moment, if you were to ask your client would they accept a business process with a 30% failure rate would they accept it or look at ways to fix it?  They’d fix it right?  Yet because it’s recruitment it is left unattended to.

Not any more!

We find that most professional recruiters have great processes but no way to evidence that with their clients.  The REC, in October 2017 published a piece of research called the Perfect Match Report which highlighted that the cost of a mis-hire was over 3 times the salary.  We have taken that research and using some clever algorithms created an online calculator to show your clients how much their process is currently costing them and how working with you, a professional recruiter with thorough processes, can save them a considerable amount of money.

Using our Recruitment Process Audit and the Good Hire Calculator as shown here, easily helps your client identify the costs of their current process and the savings they could make from working with you.

Asking the client for 5 key pieces of data will provide an indicative set of costs and this will be backed up with a detailed report sent to your client from you.

So, in this example here, you can ask the client how many people they recruited between Sep 2017 and Sep 2018, say 17, then we’d ask, now in Sep 2019 how many are still employed, say 12.  Then, of the five people that left in their first 12 months, either  through their own choice or the client’s choice, how much were they paid, on average.  Let’s say 42000.  Then, for how many months were they employed3, 6, 9?  Let’s say 6 and then finally how when working with agencies what fees do they pay on average – let’s say 15% (because the client thinks this may be a negotiation!)

So, when we click calculate we will capture their data – name, company and email

And now the results are shown…

Think about how this will position you in front of a client?  Give it a test today, click the link below to test it out for yourself, and then watch out for an email from us.  Speak soon.
